Greetings From Our President!

Leah Shaw, revised.JPG

I bring you greetings on behalf of the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Zeta Theta Omega Chapter. We have proudly served the greater Akron community since April 3, 1954 and are excited to celebrate our 70th anniversary next year!

In 1908 on the campus of Howard University, our revered founders created this organization on the foundation of sisterhood, scholarship, and service to all mankind. Almost 115 years later, this foundation has resulted in an international organization of 325,000 initiated members in 12 countries across the globe.

Under the leadership of our International President & CEO Danette Anthony Reed, we are dedicated to implementing programs that enhance the social, economic, and educational well-being of our local, national, and global communities. Over the next four years we are specifically focusing on initiatives that empower our families, build our economic wealth, enhance our environment, advocate for social justice, and uplift our local community. We are “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service & Sisterhood” for 2022-2026!

The members of Zeta Theta Omega represent a variety of occupations and disciplines including education, healthcare, law-enforcement, business/finance, and politics. We’ve taken our areas of expertise, added our love of service, and used our collective energy to fulfill our mission of providing enriching cultural and social activities that will uplift and preserve the unity of the family, enhancing the quality of life in our community, and standing firm and dedicated to provide service to all mankind, both locally and globally.

Stay connected! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Eventbrite so you can learn more about what we’re doing and how you can join us in this work! If you are an initiated member and are looking for a chapter to call home, look no further than Zeta Theta Omega!

Thank you all for your continued support over the years and we look forward to partnering with you in the years to come.
